Tassels and Monochrome <3

Hi guys!

Here’s a recent outfit I put together, combining the old and the new, to create this monochrome look. (Please excuse the bad quality images and my squinty eyes!)

Anyway, here goes:

  • Top: My top is a new purchase, £28 from Topshop. You can find it here: http://www.topshop.com/en/tsuk/product/clothing-427/tops-443/sleeveless-tops-2139019/dip-dye-fringe-vest-2951229?refinements=category~%5b209725%7c208524%5d&bi=1&ps=200  (I paired it this way, using up pieces I already own, but feel it would work well with a pair of white skinny jeans?)
  • Choker: Another new purchase, again from Topshop. £14.50
  • Skirt: Bargain oldie from H & M. Literally about £4, such a good price, and a great key piece to any wardrobe. It can be dressed up or down, and I’m sure it is available in a variety of different colours.
  • Jacket: A lightweight smart yet casual piece, again another old piece from H&M. Again such a good price at £14.99. I’m not sure on their current stock but am sure similar pieces are still available.
  • Shoes: My beloved Mel jelly shoes! £35. I am obsessed with jelly shoes, so easy to work with! And incase you were unaware, Mel shoes smell delicious too! (they are genuinely scented, i’m not that strange!)

Outfit of The Day Biker Style…

So on Saturday (31st May), I went over to Leicester to meet up with some family. Whilst there, we went to a Scooter Rally! Yes, really. Haha. So here is the outfit I wore, hoping to blend in with such an out of place scene. (Ok, so I love this dress anyway, but a good excuse to wear it again!) The outfit also features a new Topshop choker which I adore! Such a huge fan of chokers at the minute, and this fully beaded beautifulness was right up my street!

So here’s my outfit:

Dress: Asos

Shoes: River Island

Oversized denim jacket: Topshop

Choker: Topshop

(I apologise for the blurred photographs!)

Summer pastels <3

From designer to high-street, at the minute pastels are on trend, with beautiful pieces available in most high-street stores!

I’ve had my eye on this particular top in my local Ark store for weeks now, and 20% discount with ‘UniDays’ finally gave me the final push to purchase it! Not that any excuses were needed 😉 … Anyway, this leads on to this post, featuring my new pastel top.

I teamed up my Ark pastel top, with my new(ish) pale blue jeans from Miss Selfridge, and a faux leather jacket from Topshop to accommodate the chilly breeze. How typical that just days after I make a Summer purchase, the weather turns! These images also feature my new Mel jelly shoes, black with hearts, quite simple and understated, but cute and stylish at the same time ❤

Whilst in the shop, I failed to resist a cute little two-piece shorts and crop top set, so watch this space! Any signs of the sun could call for a new OOTD featuring the cute co-ord!

So, here’s my OOTD 20/05/2014. I hope you like the look, (please excuse my un-photogenic face!)

I’d title this post ‘SPORT CHIC’ but I guess there’s nothing ‘chic’ about it, haha <3

Today I wore Nike running leggings (although I did no running -.-), a Topshop cropped vest, Mel jelly shoes and Topshop shades:

I did my hair in an up doughnut style bun.

Makeup is pretty much the same as yesterday, although I swapped the Topshop lipstick to a Topshop pink lip cream. ❤

I love the smooth feel and vibrant colour.

Thank you for stopping by, again I would love to hear feedback! ❤

Met Gala 2014 Style Icons <3

The Met Gala 2014 saw a whole range of beautiful pieces, a sea of bright, vibrant, summer colours and styles. It’s great to see many people braving the bold statement colours!

The crop was a fairly popular style, with a few celebrities gearing away from the usual dressy dress style. I love the effect of the crops! The way they were pieced together created many different overall looks. Usually a crop creates a fun, hip look and feel, but this just goes to show that they can too be used to create a sleek, elegant, sophisticated look, perfect for dressy occasions!

Anne Hathaway sports a bold but elegant style in her matching red two piece crop and skirt. The dress is slightly fitted, just enough to show off her amazing figure. Her accessories are kept simple, as to add the emphasis onto her outfit. Less is more!

With many style icons opting for the bright, colourful look, Cara Delevigne’s monochrome effect creates a bold statement.

To recreate this look, try Topshop’s white cigarette trousers:

Emma Stone’s two tone ensemble work so effectively together. The chic plait and dainty heels finish the look off perfectly, creating a low key, but very glamorous effect.

If you like this look, try Topshop’s crop:

Amongst all of the vibrant colours and styles, I did find that it was the more simple colours standing out to me. Victoria Beckham and Rihanna made a bold statement, sporting beautiful white garments.

Rihanna wore a beautiful Dolce and Gabbana two piece, standing out from the crowd in dazzling white.

Victoria wore a piece from her very own collection. The dress contrasts beautifully with her dark hair. The jewellery is kept simple yet elegant, adding a subtle sparkle.

What’s your style: Black is the new black; Dazzle them in white; Bright is best?

Would love to hear feedback! Who was your best dressed?

Thanks for reading! xox
